College Visit

Primary 7 from Mossvale and St James's were given a tour of West of Scotland College today as part of Careers Week. They enjoyed visiting departments such as Bricklaying, Computing, Hospitality, Health & Beauty and Mechanics. It gave them an insight into future careers and the hard work they would need to put in to get there.

Road Safety

Theatre& paid us a visit on Monday with a performance highlighting the importance of staying safe when near roads. They told us how important it is to stay safe when walking to secondary school and pay attention to cars rather than chatting to our friends! We joined with P7 pupils from St James's for the very important message.

We are coming to the end of our Gymnastics topic in P.E. We have been working very hard on balances, movement and using apparatus. Here are some pictures of us in action!

Children's Rights

We have spent our morning discussing children's rights and their importance. We know that during the war some rights were taken away from children. We discussed how our rights are met nowadays and prioritised them. We then used this knowledge to make persuasive posters around the articles.

New Term

We are looking ahead to another busy term in Primary 7. Our topic is WW2 and we have already been busy learning about the start of the war and evacuation.

We will be studying Children's Rights through the topic and growing our own victory gardens in science.

In maths we will be studying Algebra, Time Durations and Symmetry.

Our class novel is Carrie's War which is the heartwarming story of siblings Carrie and Nick who are evacuated to a Welsh mining village during WW2.

In R.E we will be looking at World Leaders and for P.E the class have chosen Gymnastics and Rugby for this term.

We look forward to welcoming Mrs McGlynn as out new Head Teacher and wish Mrs Colquhoun all the best in her new job.
